Posted on07. Mar, 2010 by Lizzie Larock.
Don't mind if we toot our horns a bit ... Toot Toot! I'm just incredibly proud of our awesome staff & of our delicious and (very fun) restaurant. Here are some of the reviews I've found on Old Town Pub. So glad our favorite patrons are so thoroughly enjoying Steamboat's favorite Pub! Come see us on the corner of 6th & Lincoln. Dig into dinner at Old Town Pub, a local favorite. You're in the Wild West, so try the buffalo burger, leaner than beef, but just as juicy. --Sunset Magazine
Old Town Pub is a great authentic spot for locals, families & fun seekers. huge prime rib, juicy burgers, and lots of live music - local & national bands. CV Bistro has amazing cuisine by local ranches and farmers and small wineries. Having a blast eating in the Boat! Today we're skiing and trying out Slopeside. --from NY Times Travel Guide reviewer
Lizzie, A big thanks to Kurt and Megan the rest of your crew for the outstanding service they provided Thurs night for our farewell dinner. Everyone raved about how good the food was and what a great time they had. The dinner was a perfect ending to a perfect ski trip. Thanks Again --Canyon Explorers Ski Club
"Atmosphere
was excellent! We were enticed by the prospect of a band (Outformation)
playing a show there and at 10 the bar transformed into a really
rocking venue. The band sounded great and with the locals noodle
dancing like their lives depended on it in front of me, I felt like I
was back in ol' FoCo." --online reviewer
Between 5 of us, we
tried the Tortilla Chip Encrusted Red Trout, Sesame Seared Yellowfin
Tuna and a Buffalo Sirloin Steak. Entrees with choice of starch ran
between $17-$28. I ordered the Buffalo and this was the first time I'd
ever had an actual steak of buffalo, other experiences were always
ground. I became a fan of that meat this night as it was lean,
flavorful and satisfying. I'm a huge fan of "choice" grade beef and
though I value tenderness in beef, I wasn't expecting it for buffalo.
I actually had to chew this mofo, with flavor bursting in every
carnivorous bite and the horseradish demi that topped the meat was very
complementary. The portions are huge and most in our group could not
finish their plates so I got to try everybody's dishes. The tuna was
good with a wasabi sauce and the trout was crunchy and tasty.--Online Reviewer

March Music Madness
Posted on06. Mar, 2010 by Lizzie Larock.
It's been an incredible week at Old Town Pub. We barely got off our huge high from hosting Salvador Santana (Carlos Santana's Son) and New Master Sounds on Thursday night. We had Morsoul from Boulder last night and TONIGHT (Saturday, March 6) We've got The Dyrty Byrds - another fantastic Sam Holt (of Outformation) band.
Dyrty Byrds:
Sam Holt, Tori Pater, Eric Martinez, Mike Goletz, and Mike "Spanky" McCluer play some good old southern style rock & roll.
So stop sitting at home wondering what you're going to do tonight in Steamboat - plan on a delicious dinner at Old Town Pub followed by "good ole Southern style Rock & Roll" with The Dyrty Byrds afterwards. My suggestion tonight - Old Town Pub's famous Southern Fried Chicken with mashers 'n gravy - yummy!
For more information on Dyrty Byrds - check out Sam Holt on Facebook: Sam Holt Music

Top 10 Things to do in Steamboat this weekend
Posted on13. Jan, 2010 by Lizzie Larock.
As a 14 year local of Steamboat, I constantly get asked what do "you" like to do here. I think I was a concierge in another life as I LOVE helping people plan fun itineraries in and around town, so I've decided to start a weekly post of my top 10 lists for each Steamboat weekend. Please feel free to tweet this post to your Steamboat followers and email me with any questions: theoldtownpub@gmail.com. Have fun in our favorite little slice of Heaven (Steamboat!) - Lizzie Larock/Owner, Old Town Pub
10) Ski the powder with some gorgeous blue bird days. Snow is expected Wed/Thurs and the weekend in Sunny! Can we ask for anything more? Steamboat Weather 10 day forecast
9) Relax & renew at the Yoga Center of Steamboat - most gorgeous yoga studio you will ever visit
8) Check out the Matt Spinks Band at Old Town Pub on FRIDAY NIGHT- very fun - bluesy, country, finger pickin and y'all having a good ole time. 10pm
7) Shop for fantastic & fun music at ALL THAT JAZZ - right across the street from the Old Town Pub. Tell Joe Kboudi we sent you! Then pop on over to Old Town Pub for yummy lunch or apps or a delicious dinner, depending what time of day you're shopping.
6) Try our fabulous southwest stuffed poblano pepper or our delicious sliders or dig into fresh salads or a cowboy cut of Prime Rib on Saturday night and then stick around for a funkified evening with FUTABA - SATURDAY night at OLD TOWN PUB. They are on the cover of FT Collins' SCENE magazine this month. Not to be missed.
5) Check out the Ski Jam music acts in gondola square and in the music tent on the mountain. Where your long johns as it might be chilly. The shows are early so there's plenty of time to groove to music downtown at Old Town Pub afterwards. Check out our calendar.
4) Visit some of Steamboat's awesome art galleries. One of my favorite photographers in town, Karen Schulman, is a guest artist at the artist's gallery of Steamboat this month.
3) Stop by Epilogue book company or the beautiful Bud Werner Memorial Library for books on Martin Luther King for the Monday holiday and in honor of a magnificent leader.
2) Eat more food at the Old Town Pub - check out our new winter dinner menu with our wild sausage sampler, Buffalo Short Ribs and the Cowboy Ribeye - hand cut. And save room for Lizzie's Beignets (mini doughnuts) they are doughnutfully delightful.
1) And the NUMBER ONE thing to do in Steamboat this weekend - drum roll please ............... Ladies only read this: Check out the ALL MALE REVUE - Smooth Criminal Tour - dance tribute to Michael Jackson in the Old Town Pub dining room. This private viewing of scantily clad gentlemen is sure to be a hilarious and fun way to spend the evening with your gal pals. So grab your girlfriends and join us for martinis, MJ & the Male Revue! From Loud ass Blues to FUNK you funky … Old Town Pub has some great music!

The Matt Spinks Band
"Loud Ass Blues, country, rock and roll and y'all having a great time"! Show starts at 10pm. Don't miss this Southern rock transplant now living in Denver. Incredibly talented guitarist, classically trained pianist (not that we have a piano) and all around amazing vocalist. For more info on Matt and to see his finger pickin' blues go to The Matt Spinks Band page on myspace.
And then on Saturday, January 16, 2010 Ft. Collins' hottest new funky horn band - FUTABA
They say music takes many forms and it took bringing together a guitar player from Nebraska (Josh), a drummer from Wyoming (Scotty), a singer/Trumpet player from DC (Ben), and a bass player from right here in Colorado (Ean) to make an all-star group rooted in funk grooves, rich harmonies, sweet horn licks, and hard charging fun. Although pretty fresh to the scene, FUTABA has already played shows at Hodi’s Half Note, Mishawaka, The Vault, KRFC’s live at lunch, and many other notable locations around Colorado. And you can check them out this month on the cover of FT. COLLINS' SCENE magazine for winning the 18th annual battle of the bands. To get a sample of Futaba click here.
Show starts at 10pm at the Old Town Pub
