Run Rabbit Run Ultramarathon Now Part of Montrail Ultra Cup Races
Posted on 28. Jul, 2010 by Shelly Benson.

One of the more epic running races Steamboat
has ever seen, the 50-mile Run Rabbit Run ultramarathon has reached new levels with the race officially being sold out this week, and the race being added to the Montrail Ultra Cup race series. The Run Rabbit Run is set for September 18, 2010!
The Montrail Ultra Cup runs from one summer to the next. The 2009-10 season included 11 races in all corners of the United States. It wrapped up in June with the Western States 100 in Squaw Valley, Calif. Steamboat’s race will come early in the 2010-11 season and will award four spots — two male and two female — to next summer’s Western States 100, the series’ premier event.
This partnership with Montrail will ensure that Run Rabbit Run will attract some of the country’s top ultramarathon runners. And with the news, the race hit its 150-racer cap.
The race, which starts and finishes at the base of Steamboat Ski Area, includes nearly 9,000 vertical feet of climbing as it pushes toward its turnaround point on Rabbit Ears Pass.

“It’s probably one of the most beautiful courses in America,” he said. “I’d like to think people like how well organized it is and how much fun it is. In the ultra community, a lot of it is word of mouth, and I hear people talking about our race.
ResortQuest Steamboat is a happy bunny partner to the Run Rabbit Run and our lodging deals are still available for runners! Make sure you have the luxury amenities, rooms and services that those tired rabbit feet will need after this ultramarathon. See our lodging deals.

Keb’ Mo’ Brings the Blues to Steamboat Springs
Posted on 28. Jul, 2010 by Shelly Benson.

“Keb’ Mo’s pieces are daydreams on the blues,” says the New York Times about singer songwriter and guitarist Keb’ Mo’ who will be playing Friday Aug. 6, 2010 at the Strings Music Festival.
Keb’ Mo’s music is commonly referred to as a living link to the
seminal Delta blues that traveled up the Mississippi river before crossing the expanse of America.
Keb’ Mo’, a three-time Grammy Award winner for Contemporary Blues Album, was also nominated for a Grammy with the Dixie Chicks for a country song they co-wrote. He was named Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year at the 1997 W.C. Handy Awards.
“If there is such as thing as happy blues, then the man for that is Keb’ Mo’… there’s a lot of fine musicianship and classy songwriting, while still keeping something of an attachment to more the traditional acoustic blues sound,” The Graham Weekly says.
And since Keb’ Mo’s last visit to Steamboat, he has continued to win millions of worldwide fans with his distinctive acoustic, electric and slide guitar prowess, storytelling and soul.
While in Steamboat don’t miss Keb’ Mo’ or any of the other amazing summer activities and summer events going on including the Steamboat Wine Festival and the Ride 4 Yellow event with guest rider Lance Armstrong. Stay with the best at ResortQuest Steamboat and receive amazing lodging deals on Steamboat’s premier vacation rentals.
